History
The Club National Championship began in 2008 at the Maryland Soccerplex. Good Counsel Head Coach Michael Haight and Bethesda Chevy Chase Head Coach Jenna Ries worked in conjunction to create the event. Jenna Ries is the owner of Champions of Tomorrow and Haight works as her Director of the Jackals Club Lacrosse (JCL).
With the backing of the Maryland Soccerplex the event was created in a few short meetings. In the first year, we anticipated around 50-60 teams but the event quickly gained momentum after a conference call between Haight and numerous club owners/directors. We would especially like to thank SPLAX, ROME, HERO'S, NEMS, LIBERTY, TLC, GREENE TURTLE BEL AIR, GREENE TURTLE-OC, LOONEY'S, FSLAX, CHECKHERS, METRO, CAROLINA FEVER, FUTURE ELITE, CENTRAL JERSEY SELECT, CTLF, PA EXPRESS, SEPA, INTREPID, LENAPE, NORTHSTAR, RAVENS, OHIO PREMIER, YELLOW JACKETS, STAR-RIDERS, LI EXPRESS, LI WAVE, JCL, PHANTASTIX, ISLAND GIRLS, BALTIMORE BLAZE, SHOOTING STARS, and STEPS!!! Without your support this event would never have occurred and we truly appreciate your confidence and faith in us to run a truly classy event! Your recommendations to other club owners have made our event massive this year! From the bottom of our hearts we would like to thank-you!
Lastly, for those of us who suffered through the painstaking time that "Kenny" and Coach Haight (Mike) were seeding the tournament field. We have rectified that problem this year! All games will be done by 10:00 AM Teams advancing the playoffs will be notified by 10:30 AM Sunday, playoffs seeds will be posted at 11:30 AM, with games starting at 12:00 PM. We will print copies for everyone and have them available for you at 11:30 AM! Take the time to visit the wonderful vendors or run an end of the year picnic or party in the pavalions located on the grounds of the Maryland Soccerplex.
