TOURNAMENT RULES AND FORMAT

 



All 2012,2013 and 2014 teams will play Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

All 2015,2016, and 2017/18 teams will play Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

All teams will have 4 guaranteed games. At least 3 pool play games, and 1 playoff game.

We will reseed teams based on pool play and play for a CUP and a PLATE Championship in each age group--2 winners per age group!

Playoff games are single elimination and playoff schedules will be posted at the completion of pool play. We will post the playoff seeding structure when the schedule is released.

Pool play is 3 points for a win, 1 for a tie 0 for a loss.

Head-to-Head
Goals Against
Shutouts
Coin Toss


Tournament Rules

2011 US Lacrosse rules will be used.  Except for:  if, at the end of each half, an 8M shot has been whistled, the shot will be awarded.  One shot, no rebound play.
Games will be regulation and the clock will run at all times.  Central Horn.
No time outs.
No jewelry. Band aids do not constitute “no jewelry”. 
The head coach will be responsible for the behavior of personnel affiliated with their team, including all assistant coaches, and will receive any cards related to lack of bench decorum.
Players receiving 2 yellows or a red will not have to sit the following game, but it will be reported to the tournament director and subsequent cards could result in suspension.
Once a team receives its third card (players or coach) in the game, the team will play shorthanded for the remainder of the game. They will lose an additional player each time another card is received. 
A coach receiving a red card could be required to sit an additional game.  
All decisions on penalties for cards will be at the discretion of the tournament committee and the head official.
 USL Level “A” rules will be used for 2015 and below.
Modified checking, below the shoulder. Cannot agree to do full checking. 
22 minute halves 5 min halftime.  Central Horn

No time outs. 3 second holding the ball… use a visible and audible count.

No follow through into the goal circle

4 goal differential will be used unless waived by the coach of the trailing team

Coaching: All Coaches have total responsibility for the conduct of their players, substitutes, friends, and spectators at all times.  Coaching from the sidelines (giving direction to one’s own team on points of strategy and position) is permitted, provided:
The tone of the voice is instructive and not derogatory;
Each coach or substitute remains on their own half of the field between the substitution area and the restraining line.
No coach, substitute, or spectator makes derogatory remarks or gestures to the umpires, other coaches, players, substitutes, or spectators;
No coach, substitute, or spectator uses profanity or incites, in any manner  disruptive behavior. 
Officials have the right at anytime to stop a game, eject a coach based on fans or players behaviors, or due to violent nature of a teams play.

Player Equipment:
It will be at the officials’ discretion to determine the safety and suitability of player equipment including the wearing of an orthopedic cast or hard brace.  Mouth guards must be multicolored and eye protection is mandatory for all players.

Suspended and Terminated Games:
If in the opinion of the game officials, a game must be suspended for any reason the game may be resumed but is subject to being ended not less than five (5) minutes prior to the scheduled start of the next game.  If in the opinion of game officials, a game must be terminated for misconduct of players, bench coaches, or spectators, the offending team could be suspended from further play and forfeits that game and all remaining games.

Injury:
Delays of the game due to an injury may result in shortened game times.  All games must end 5 minutes prior to the next scheduled game on that field.  Ice for injuries will be placed at the center of each sideline.  Field Marshals will be assigned to each “quad” of fields and can summon the trainer to your field in case of injury or emergency.

Home Team:
The Home Team will be the team that appears first on the game schedule.  The Home Team will be required to switch to alternate jersey/or wear pinnies to accommodate a color conflict as declared by the umpire. 

Forfeits:
Teams failing to report to assigned games will not be invited back next year.

Disputes:
All disputes will be settled by the Tournament Director or his/her designed and the decision will be final

Determining Winners:
                                    
*In the event that there is a tie in total points at the end of the tournament play, the winner will be determined as follows:
Compare head to head competition of tied teams.  Winner in head to head competition advances. (If three team tied, proceed to next tie breaker)

Goal Against
Compare which team has the most shutouts.  The team with the most advances.
